Ninth Street Baptist Church Begins Pastor Search

By Ninth Street Baptist Church Pastor Search Committee |  February 16, 2015

The Ninth Street Baptist Church of Fort Smith is beginning its search for a new pastor. The congregation is seeking a Christ-filled, God fearing person to serve in this position.

This historic church, which is a member of the Consolidated Antioch District Baptist Association of the Consolidated Baptist State Convention of Arkansas, was organized in 1884 and is celebrating 131 years in Christ. They are a Missionary Baptist Church with a small membership, but they have the potential to grow under an effective leader. The church was last served faithfully by the late Reverend Dr. Andrew J. Parrish for 48 years. His recent death has left the congregation in the position of seeking the Lord's leader for the future of the church.

The church is searching for a leader who will help them to grow in Christian service and outreach in the community as they grow individually in their daily walk with God. Of great importance is a pastor who communicates well with both children and senior adults, and who will work with the congregation to develop a vision for ministry and growth. Finally, the pastor should believe that the Bible is the word of
God.
